Perhaps gotousa did not indicate a desire to apply for financial aid? THe letter mentioned that we had indicated wanting to apply for scholarships and aid.

The FA is from a combination, and the form itself is a little confusing. But that’s the question, gotousa-- did you check off that you wanted aid? Because otherwise, you would not get the email… and the fact that we did is not significant.

Hi everyone,
I interviewed as well, but did not receive the most recent email message. I did not express interest in financial aid.

Well the letter starts off with saying “you are receiving this because you indicated an interest in applying for financial aid…” – so that would be why! But I did find the wording somehow encouraging, as if we were enrolling, not applying, for admission – did you notice that, nik? However, that’s likely grasping at straws.
The Khan-- which campus? How was the interview for you?

^ I agree. It did sound encouraging, but that’s probably confirmation bias! Sounds like people who indicated interest got it. Nothing more, nothing less.

I checked the form. We did not apply for FA.

There you have it, gotousa! So no need to worry.

Thank you! whackadoodle, could you post the email? if it is convenient to you.

hmmm, would have to hack into my daughter’s email or get her to forward! It talked about their system of awarding a plan for the entire four years (with Sciences Po and Columbia) and that one would need to reapply in 2015 – and somehow the language did sound promising (about being admitted, not about aid!) Will try to post… or perhaps nik or someone else will!

Ok, thanks!

‘Once we receive this application and the associated required documents of income, Columbia University and Sciences Po will present a cohesive, preliminary four year financial aid package. This package will outline your financial aid awards, pending the satisfactory completion of the academic program.’ ← this was the promising sounding part.

Thank you, nik, it is a good sign for you. We have to wait and wait. Good luck!

In 2011, people found out by March 24… hopefully we find out that soon as well! the wait is killing me…

My guess is we’ll hear by the end of next week – since the financial aid forms said due by the 15th, and they need to put packages together… that would probably take another week, I’m guessing.

I hope it will be very soon. Have you guys seen my previous post?

Admission decisions will be made known during the third week of March 2013 at the latest.Double-degree programme Sciences Po/Columbia University | Sciences Po Admissions

Sorry, I couldn’t post the link by phone, please see page 4. BTW, the FA in GS is up to 8K/year only, and the scholarship in sciences po will be considered on both merit and family income base, right?

^ I don’t think this is accurate. Columbia will offer up to full packages, even though the program is technically offered through the School of GS. At least this is what some of the admissions officers were saying. And yes, SP gives based on merit (Emile Boutmy) as well as based on need).

I did see your previous post, gotousa. And I hope it’s true; that lines up with my perception as well. Either way, it’s very soon… and very far away!

It is Friday!

I know. I think they have decided. But I wonder when they will let people know. Perhaps by the middle of next week… Good luck!!
