Columbia Splash 2015 - High Schoolers Take Classes at Columbia!

Hi Everyone!

For high school students interested in attending Columbia University or just attending and engaging in challenging and thought-provoking lectures, there is a program called Columbia Splash, where Columbia graduate students, undergraduate students, and some members of the community teach/lecture/hold workshops for high school students in the tri-state area being held on Saturday, April 18th from 2-6pm. Lectures typically range from 1 to 3 hours and will leave you with a brand new perspective on whichever topic(s) it covers! I really encourage all of you to enroll at https://columbia.learningu.org and schedule your classes ASAP (they have a maximum number of students and fill up rather quickly!). BTW, it costs $20 at registration when you arrive at Columbia. Registration closes on April 13th, 2015.

Just some shameless self-promotion: I’ll be giving a lecture called “The Two Lenses: Adhering to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights While Maintaining Cultural Values”, which is an analytical, interactive, and dynamic discussion on modern views on human rights and human rights law. The maximum allotted number of students is 116 and registration went live on Friday, so please consider enrolling! It runs from 2-4pm and there will be a debate following my lecture (copies of Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and other items will be given to particularly impressive students). I know that this is a long lecture, but I guarantee that you’ll enjoy it!
