Human Rights

Anyone interested in/really-hoping-to-get-in-because of the human rights at Columbia or Barnard?

human rights program, I meant :)

Pick me! I’m pre-med and planning on majoring in physics and concentrating in Human Rights/Pre-Med.

I’m a senior at Columbia and I’m doing a special concentration in human rights. It’s an amazing program! In fact, I’m doing my senior project on the rights of displaced women in Colombia. Yesterday, I was invited to drinks with my professor, J. Paul Martin (google him, he’s awesome!) and two officers in the Colombian military. It’s a program in which you’ll be hooked up with opportunities that you would never be able to get anywhere else. Good luck!

Aaaww, that sounds so exciting! I’m from a country that’s constantly in the media for brutal human rights violations, and I have a lot of work experience in the field (due to two wonderful internships). However, I doubt I’ll get into Columbia because I just got rejected from Barnard. Mostly because I have a high demonstrated need. Urgh. My application essay stressed on my experiences as a child and student, and how passionate I am about human rights. Please let some miracle work! :)

WindSongLibra: you should get in, that kind of stuff, and passion is what Columbia looks for when reading applications :D
