Columbia transfer.

I'm currently enrolled at Middlebury College, which I'm finding is not a great fit for me. I'd like to be in New York City next fall; I'm applying to Columbia and Barnard.

High school stats:
SAT--
Critical Reading: 800
Writing: 760
Math: 650

SAT II's--
US: 740
Literature: 740

I would like to pursue creative writing, specifically playwriting.

I had a 3.9 GPA I believe, if not a 4.0. I took all the history and English APs my school offered. I was editor for newspaper and literary magazine, wrote several plays that were produced locally, and was active in the local Youth Group, among some other things. I'm also Hispanic and from divorced parents, which I'm sure ups the proverbial diversity factor.

At Middlebury, I'm currently taking three writing-intensive courses and will probably spend J-term and spring studying languages. I would say my grades are pretty high, so far.

I'd really like to know if I'm an attractive candidate as a Columbia transfer. I know my SAT math score is rather low, but I only took the SAT once and am capable of writing a seriously kick-ass essay and supplemental compilation of my creative work.

come back with first semester GPA, if it's 3.3-3.4+ you have a shot at barnard, if it's 3.7-3.8+ you have a chance at columbia i'd say.

Apart from NYC why does barnard fit and not middlebury?
