hey ive just applied to bowdoin, colby, colgate, cornell, columbia, dartmouth, penn, uva, reed, u chicago, nyu and vassar as a transfer student.
My first semester at fordham i got a 3.95, one A-. My sats are 2240, 800 R, 760 W, 680 M, sat 2s 700 Physics and 700 literature. I am an accomplished guitarist and golfer and i wrote poetry in the school newspaper. My recs were excellent (well i hope so at least) from teachers who i knew well and talked to out of class on a variety of topics. My essays were good, really good.
oh and my high school gpa was 2.93, which is why im really worried about this whole business.
Does anyone have any ideas what my chances are? I really am focused on my ivies and u chicago and if i dont get in i might join americorps and apply again next year. (with an addition semester of straight A's on my transcript)
So, has anyone had any experience with something like this? or have a guess as to my chances of admissions? its much appreciated.

any input?

yeah your high school gpa is clearly not working to your benefit, but it seems like you’ve adequately redeemed yourself. i’d say you’ve got a good shot. make sure to emphasize your extracurricular achievements, as it seems like that’s what it comes down to with the top schools (cause almost everyone has the grades and test scores - which you have)
