@LookAtThisNet I got a likely letter and Columbia is still bothering me with emails about the summer program. I wouldn’t worry.
Do likely letters for the most part get sent to applicants who have legacy at that school?
@jayusa8 No, I’m far from legacy.
@jayusa8 don’t think so. I got a LL and have nothing to do with Columbia or any other institution in the country whatsoever.
Hello, parent of international (UK) student here. Been lurking in the background until now. DS was accepted at UCLA and is very pleased but really hoping for the Ivy League, to which he applied to 5.
Good luck to everyone for next week.
@jayusa8 same. my parents didnt even attend school in the united states.
Guys, have you recently (in the past month/week) received an email notifying that decisions will be available on March 30, 2017 at 5 PM ET?
@valodik no such email rcvd
@valodik Got an email from Dartmouth. So, I guess it’s clear that even Columbia would release on 30th at 5 pm.
Hey guys, so my likely letter doesn’t say anything about me being a scholar but then my financial aid award says that something about benefits of me being a Davis Scholar. Am I a Davis Scholar or not?
@afrikal What is a Davis scholar?
@Afrikal you get notified that you’re a Davis scholar through a separate email (not your likely email)
@realityhitshard I haven’t received a seperate email but my financial aid letter says I am. Does that mean that I am one?
@Afrikal hmm, I’m not sure. In the mail, within that folder that Columbia should’ve sent you did you get a Davis scholar poster?
@realityhitshard I haven’t gotten any mail. My likely letter was emailed. Oh well, it might come with my admissions folder.
I recently received a call from Columbia’s fin aid department telling me my application is incomplete because I did not submit a fin aid document (I’m being considered for HEOP, which is why financial aid documents are important). Could this be perceived as a good sign?
@gunkers No.
@AllRightNow Any particular reason why you believe not? It’s extremely late in the application process, so it would not make sense to call someone that would inevitably get denied, no?
@gunkers Financial Aid operates independently of the admissions office.
@yonceonhismouth Yes I know this, but I’m being considered for HEOP, and eligibility of HEOP is dependent on income. And so, it would make sense that the two departments are intertwined when dealing with HEOP/ASP students.
