****Columbia University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

@Yorious They will post all decisions online. What they mean is that they will not mail any decision letters if you are not accepted.

Ah, thank you. Got it!

fun fact: most colleges actually post decisions a few minutes before the scheduled times; I’ve had colleges post it as many as ten minutes early. they want to decrease traffic on the portal at the exact time.

@scarletwitchx D: don’t tell me that! You’ll just validate my compulsive refreshing :stuck_out_tongue:

@Theoddorre They’ve mist probably received your documents. It’s just that you can’t track your financial aid documents after the 22nd of March. Nothing to worry about.

I’m just gonna call Monday and tell them to mail my rejection letter lol

@Theoddorre same, i was going to ask about that. does the documents bar being missing from my portal mean that my FA app is complete? it was there until earlier this week i think (i had two missing items)

@coffee-and-cramming @Theoddorre Same!
I think it is most probably our financial aid application is complete and is not trackable after March 22

Finally found this thread. Did any internationals receive a chance to have an interview taken?

@Homeostasis101 I did not, but it does not mean anything. Interviews are purely given out on the basis of availability.

@ammielove u hav some hook rt… may be thts why u dint get interview and got likely

@Homeostasis101 Though it is rather strange, as I live in a major city where there are sure to be plenty of alumni, and I received interviews from all my other choices. At first, I assumed it was a sure rejection. Nevertheless, I still received a LL from Columbia.

@ammielove I was accepted at a private college and my estimated contribution was three times what my efc is. Go figure. Meeting demonstrated need seems to be lip service.

Got another email from Columbia about financial aid for their high school program. And I jumped again thinking it was a likely letter. Why u do dis to me Columbia?

@johonmilla SAME

im in the same situation as @ammielove. i live in a big city too, but im actually from the states and didnt get an interview. i still got a likely letter

@USUG21 internationals don’t get ‘hooks’ (if your talking about stuff like URM, first generation etc)

Simply by being an international in a US university, that makes you over represented, regardless of ethnicity.

@ammielove Really? International from anywhere automatically makes you over-represented? We’re from the UK. Guess that’s not exactly an under-represented country in US unis. Hey ho.

Does anyone know if financial aid decisions will be released with acceptances or will accepted students have to wait longer for financial decisions
