Yeah, I’m definitely planning on it
@1984ad thank you so much!
@chemgirl18 Awesome, me too! If we both get in we could have classes together or something :-*
OKay, I didn’t realize that emoji was a kissy face lol I meant
Are Questbridge numbers separate from ED numbers? Like when Columbia announced last year that they accepted 650 students through ED, did that number include the QB students as well?
@skieurope would you happen to know the answer to this?
Has anyone’s app portal shut down yet? Mine is still up and it was supposed to shut down yesterday. I assume this means that they just remove the checklist, idk
@ToastQueen My portal is still up with the checklist. Maybe they’re shutting it down tomorrow since I know they opened it up like a day late
@ToastQueen @1984ad Mine’s still there as well. Why are we only allowed to see them till the 30th?
@AcademiaSavvy idk, maybe they want to make it clear that decisions are made/in committee at that point so if you didnt send something in then it’s too late?
does anyone know what time of day the decisions usually come out? is it 5pm like the regular decision?
@ers2022 i believe it’s actually 6 pm EST
@ers2022 It’s usually in the evening around 5 or 6 PM EST.
Also, I emailed my counselor and apparently they might have received a letter from Columbia. I won’t be able to find out for sure until Monday (school was closed for two days, very convenient)
@ToastQueen Keep us posted if your GC received a letter, because if they did then on Monday or Tuesday I’m going to go straight to my GC to inquire.
@ToastQueen did multiple people apply ED from your school? I’m the only one from mine and I’m wondering if Columbia will send the letters out to only schools with multiple ED applicants. My counselor said she didn’t get anything and she would tell me if she did, so hopefully I get updated on monday!
Omg waiting until 5 or 6 PM I’m going to be feeling faint all day.
Does anyone know how much weight there is being an athlete CU likes if you have eh grades?
Two questions they are kind of related;
- When we say 5 or 6 pm does that mean EST? Like students in CA would know by like 2 PM or 3 PM or would they know at 5 or 6 pm their local time?
- There is a possibility that I might be in China for the latter part of December Early January time, would it be released like the next morning for me on the 16th if they were released the 15th in America? China is 12 hours ahead I believe from EST.
Odd questions, sorry.
@1984ad I’m almost certain that I’m the only Columbia applicant at my school. Most people here stay and go to local schools. We’re pretty underperforming. However, I did see someone in the ED 2020 thread mention that their school received a letter and had 5 ED applicants (4 acceptances).
@TomTanJoseR2022 You would know around 3 PM Pacific. They’re released in Eastern time, so it would be earlier as you reach the west coast. Don’t know about China, though.
I hate waiting for all of this stuff.
I never knew when I created this thread that it would blow up to this extent. I just want to genuinely extend my greatest wishes for luck to every single one of you guys. Just remember, that if you happen to receive a rejection, its not the end of the world and understand that it’s their loss for not accepting charismatic and intelligent students like you guys. You all will move on to doing bigger, better, and greater things wherever you end up going for college!
@ToastQueen my school sounds pretty similar lol. what state?
