Columbia University Science Honors Program ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

True… lol not thinking logically sorry
yeah I got 488 and 2.

what was the answer to that question in the first math section with the base 10 in base x or whatever that was? what base was it in

hmm…darn i knew that other one was 2, had a brain freeze about then. yeah so im sure i got 11 right and 1 wrong then. hopefully thats good enough to get me in

i put base 12, but im not sure, i was running out of time cus of those stupid graph questions.

i put 12 also but i thought it seemed too easy.

wait thats the only one that made sense…
it was multiplying in powers of 12 to express in base 12.

makes sense.

What was the anwser to the last challenge math? was it 22%? cuz I got 23%, but it wasn’t on there.

i didn’t do that one andrewsun.

anyone remember in the science section the one about relating like power and emf and amps and resistance? they gave the graph of amps and resistance and then the last question of that little set was like “which graph represents r vs i can’t remember the other variable”? which graph was it? the straight increasing line, the graph that resembled a square root graph, the one that looked exponential of some sort or the one that seemed to decrease exponentially?

it was the last graph.

anyone remember the last challenge question? please???

do you happen to recall if the last graph was the one which resembled a square root graph? i just guessed randomly =/

And also about the coin one, was it 3?? Because I didn’t multiplie to get the total, just solved for x.(The pennies and dimes and nickles one)

No, not the square root, it was the reciprocal one, because P=E^2/R, where E is constant.

shucks ok. and the coins one, i dont think the answer was 3. it was 3 sets of coins but it asked for how many coins total so since it was pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars, it was 6 x3 or 18 i think

Oh, then I got like 13 challenge right, who remembers the last question, I depende on it!!!

Is 13 challenge enough? I’m worried, cuz I’m a sophmore, and this test wasn’t that hard.

I really want the last question also, I know I got 8 of them right and so far the ones I guessed were shown to be wrong

By the way, why did they not use metric system? (The last problem was in ounces, that was just sick!)

um the one with the bases is 8 not 12
i checked it like 50000 times during the test
and then with a calculator at home

also, #15 i think was 25%

So…After all my waiting, did anyone even try the last problem???
