I took the test sophomore year (for junior year) and didn't get in, took it junior year for senior year and got in, and now I'm in the program. It's pretty cool, but I wouldn't want to do it every Saturday for three years or whatever. The class really makes the program, but you meet some pretty cool people.

Bottom line: If you really want to do it and you get rejected this year, apply again next year. You never know.

I would have to respectfully disagree with Narcissa.

I've taken two classes, one of which was very interesting most of the time (and a small class, taught by one guy the whole time) and I'm now in a large class which is taught by a different person every week, so it's interesting sometimes and boring sometimes.

I would suggest that you talk to friends who have taken classes that you're thinking of taking and asking them how it was. They're not all bad, but I'm sure there are indeed some that are "SUPER BORING".

I missed the test earlier this April...so was that for the whole upcoming year or only for the winter semester. Can i still apply for the second semester of the upcoming school year or do i have to wait a whole additional year? thanks

OMG RANT RANT. Stupid chem teacher wasn't in school. No rec so i didn't bother applying. DAMN DAMN DAMN. I knew AP Bio too. Took it last year and did 8 out of the 12 challenge problems. personally I thought the challenge problems last year at least were more AMC 8 or CML 8 than AMC 12. I thought AMC 12 was hard, but I maybe wrong. Once my math teach in 7th grade showed us an AMC 12 problem and we solved it. It involved some pattern we just learned. I personally never went to any math contests except in 7th grade. It also helped I had a super hard geo/alg 1 teacher. She was awesome, but mad hard.

Please read the previous posts. The test is only given out once a year for the whole upcoming year.

That stupid paragraph was a joke. It's probably to see if you can speak English or something.
