Yes, I read all (most? some? a lot haha) of the threads on being waitlisted already. I just thought I'd check to see if anyone from last year did indeed get off the waitlist or not and advice from them! Or just in general, if anyone has any tips :)

Columbia was my dream school, and though I'm fortunate enough to be attending somewhere else I love if it doesn't work out, I'm still going to try and give it my all!

From my stalking of CC threads, I gather that the following things are what I should be doing:

-calling regional rep
-asking alum interviewer for advice
-asking counselor to call
-writing supplementary letter with stuff I couldn't put in the common app
-emailing a professor or two ( I have a niche major and have done work in the field...)
-visiting the campus

did anyone send in an extra letter of recommendation?

-calling regional rep (your letter and counselor call is sufficient)
-asking alum interviewer for advice (he/she has no inside knowledge and cannot advocate for you)
-emailing a professor or two (they do not weigh in on admissions decisions and thus generally don’t want to be bothered)
-visiting the campus (no one tracks this)
