columbia's decisions

i think its a slaughter because basically every single every-day poster there didn't get in. statistically it's probably around 30% CC.

Well the people who seemed to care most about Columbia didn't get in. Not even deferred... they flat-out rejected many of them. I guess it makes you wonder what precisely they're looking for.

i'm applying there--are you in-state too?

No...I'm in Kentucky. But I love the UVa campus and half my family goes/went there. Plus they have a great history dept. =)

hey guys, I'm a junior who usualy sticks to the columbia board...but it's depressing me. I wish you all good luck when your decisions come. Yes, it's scary how the more passionate/more posts, the more likely the rejection/denial. I honestly feel freaked out how so many of my cc friends were rejected. I hope yale is gentler, though that may be wishful thinking.

Holy crap. Columbia is my absolute dream school but I was scared of the decision being binding, so I applied no-stress early action to Yale - now I'm really glad I didn't apply early to Columbia because I'd probably be crying right now.

WTF.... a friend of mine who didn't seem qualified at all (he wasn't in all honors, he was in the top 20%, he had no obviously excellent activities, and he was at my school, which has a good but not amazing record at ivies) got in!
