Combination of IB Math HL, IB Chem HL, and IB Physics SL?

I’m going to start the IB Diploma in the US in August and I’m having trouble deciding on my course choices. Currently, I’m thinking about taking a combination of IB Math HL, IB Chem HL, and IB Physics SL and I’m willing to put in the work but both IB Math and Physics have reputations for being very difficult and stressful at my high school.

So basically, my question is whether I should take IB Physics SL and risk not getting good grades and being very stressed or should rather take something easier at my school, like IB Economics SL, IB Environmental Systems SL, etc.

(I’m planning on doing a STEM major in college).

Will you have any physics if you do not take IB physics?

Any STEM major in college will require physics. Taking physics in college without having had physics in high school will make it more difficult.

@ucbalumnus Yes, I am doing AP Physics 1 currently in 10th grade but that’s it.

IB physics will partially duplicate AP physics 1, but there will be some topics that you have not covered (that would otherwise be in AP physics 2).

My daughter did that… she did Math HL, Physics HL and Chem HL.
She ended up being a Math major.

I would choose based on what your intended college major is.
