combined BS/MD at WashU

i was wondering whether or not there really is a combined bachelors/MD program at washU, but i cant find it anywhere online. So if anyone has any info, or even better, you can link me to their info site, that would be much appreciated.

thanks!

it's a bad program in terms of requirements:

"Washington University’s School of Medicine is one of the most selective in the nation. To assure that students will be successful in medical school, University Scholars must:
maintain a 3.8 grade point average (GPA) as an undergraduate student
complete an application to the School of Medicine the year before entering medical studies
achieve a total score of at least 36 on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)
complete a successful interview with the School of Medicine’s Committee on Admissions."

Anyone that can get a 3.8 GPA and 36 MCAT is almost GUARANTEED a spot in medical school--harvard's matriculants' mean MCAT score is 35.

I was looking for information on the same topic, except for a different school. Does the information above go for most universities that have this program? If not, I was wondering if anyone has information on this program for in California?

I beliieve UCSD still has a program but it has really specific requirements: you have to get a 1500 (old) SAT and live in either a specific county or in california (I can't remember which)

USC also has a program w/ the Keck school of medicine.

thanks. :)

Do you have more information also on NorthWestern University and their program? I heard it's really difficult to get into.

The WashU program is very lame, not only in terms of requirement but also the numbers of admits each year--I have yet seen any CC member got in. If they are so insecure about diluting the quality of their medical class, they shouldn't start this at the first place few years ago. Good for marketing though. It's a game they play to lure the best of the best.

I have a friend in it this year.....

So far, she says it's been okay, and that they are relaxing the guidelines.

By relaxing I mean...not the 36 MCAT maybe a 34 or something..def not a 28
