combined BS/MD program

i was wondering whether or not there really is a combined bachelors/MD program at washU, but i cant find it anywhere online. So if anyone has any info, or even better, you can link me to their info site, that would be much appreciated.

thanks!

I think 'University Scholars Program' is what you've heard about.
It's a program that gives admission to both the undergraduate/graduate programs.

The bs/md program at WashU has some ridiculous requirements to enter the med school, like very high gpa and mcat requirements. If it is only a combined bs/md program for which you are looking, I would suggest another school, unless you really want to attend WashU.

Well, they're very high, but they can also be exploited. For example, a normal premed who takes totally joke classes and manages a 3.8 probably won't get into Wash U; neither would a premed with a 15-15-6 on the MCAT or who took the MCAT four times and finally managed a 36; nor would a premed with a 3.8, 36, and no extracurriculars and horrible essays.

So while the requirements are pretty high, they're still easier than running the normal premed ratrace.

That may be true, but it makes much more sense to go to Brown or Northwestern or another school where there are fewer requirements for the combined programs. As a matter of fact, a person in the Northwestern program doesn’t even have to take the MCAT!

Both the Law and Medicine University Scholars programs are like that. If they accept you, you still have to do really well on a standardized test, get a really high GPA, and interview with the graduate school you have supposedly already been accepted to. It's sort of like saying, "We'll accept you so long as your college performance demonstrates that we would have accepted you anyway."

Scroll down to the bottom of these pages to check out the requirements you must fulfill once accepted.
