Combining 2 ACT scores to raise composite? Is this correct?

Son's two ACT test scores are as follows. I have combined them and wish to know if his new composite is 33 or 34? Issue is rounding and not sure how colleges do this. Son has no plans to retake ACT again. Will use his earlier Reading Score of 31 to replace 29 score. His new scores would be the first one with a 31 reading added..34/34/31/35 or 33.5 average...does this change his composite....understand that one of colleges son is looking at will do this for him if we send both ACT scores. Thank you for your opinion here. Does composite score change now to a 34?

June ACT
Composite Score : 33
English 34 Yes.
Mathematics34 Yes.
Reading 29
Science 35 Yes.
Combined English/Writing 31
Writing (score range 2 to 12) 08

Year ago ACT test:
Composite Score : 29
English 24
Mathematics 32
Reading 31
Science 28
Combined English/Writing 23
Writing (score range 2 to 12) 08

ACT scores are not superscored by top colleges except for WashU (assuming you are looking at those since you are on CC, and have an ACT score of 33.)

Thank you. Was not aware of terminology…found this on superscoring…“One of the most common questions I am asked is which colleges superscore the ACT. For those of you not familiar with superscoring, it is when a college takes the highest subscores from various test dates to get a new higher superscore. For example, assume that a student takes the April ACT and gets a 29 reading, 27 math, 28 English and 31 science subscores. This give a composite score of 29. That same student then takes the June ACT and gets a 32 reading, 25 math, 29 English and 29 science. Again, the student has a composite score of 29. However, if a college superscores the tests they combine the best scores from each test giving a 32 reading, 27 math, 29 English and a 31 science. This combined superscore gives a new composite of 30.” If this is correct seems composite score would go up to 34? or if composite is not used his score would still be improved. Thanks for bearing with my lack of expertise here.

Most colleges in the past have superscored the SAT but not the ACT. Recently, however, some colleges are starting to superscore the ACT. I first reported on superscoring the ACT in December, 2007. Here is a list of the colleges that I am aware of that currently do superscore the ACT. As I become aware of additional colleges I will add them to the list.
