commended?

I'm filling out a local scholarship app. and it asks to list 5 awards. I received the letter that i was one of the top 50,000 psat scorers in like april and i had to select 2 schools. This means that I'm a commended scholar so far right? I just want to make sure that it is honest if i write that I am a National Merit Commended Scholar.

THANKS!

does ANYONE know the answer????????

yeah that's fine

Officially, you're not a commended scholar. That designation will be made sometime next semester (September?) However, you could write "National Merit Commended Scholar (expected)" - this is how most people include AP awards on college apps because the awards aren't released till after applications are due.

yup, you will at least be commended.

tanman is right...like the National AP SCholar..my friend put (expected) and the colleges said it was fine

I think "commended" cutoff is 200. "Semifinalist" depends on the state you are in.

Actually, I think the cutoff number on the PSAT for this year was 202 to be in commended.

Okay thanks sooooooooo much guys! I guess I will definitely be commended next year since I received the letter and scored a 206.
