Committing to a school...help!

Hello again, everyone! I need some advice.

So I'm still waiting to hear from the majority of the schools I applied to. I don't know why, but a lot of them are taking their sweet time with me, even though I've had all the materials checked off for months. I had a little issue with sending SAT scores to a few schools. I had them sent but they weren't being received (but I called College Board and had them send them again a few days ago, so that was resolved).

I've only heard from Miami (I was accepted). But their deadline was May 2nd to commit. I called the admissions office there and informed them I was still waiting for the majority of the schools I applied to to get back to me, and she said I can send my commitment decision/fee later, it just won't guarantee me a spot. That's pretty terrifying...I don't know if I should just send the nonrefundable fee and take that risk? Does anyone have experience with this issue? It's really, really stressing me out. One of the schools and incidentally one of my top choices (USC) said they would let some applicants know as late as June 1st. I'm just really scared I'll be rejected by the other schools I applied to and could screw up going to Miami by waiting (it's another one of my top choices).

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

You will need to submit a deposit to Miami. You may lose it later on, but unfortunately that happens with transfer applicants. You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you cannot enroll anywhere in the fall.
