I'm currently coming around my third semester at community college while performing pretty damn well. The only problem is this small dent I have in my transcript; a D from lack of attendance. It's from an incredibly easy business course I should of done well in, but regardless it is my fault for abusing the professor's policy. I'm curious how this going to fare while I'm applying for schools.

Wrote this right when I wokeup, so I apologize how vague it was. I’ll elaborate better. If I retake a course I previously received a poor mark in, how is a good college, let’s say for example NYU, going to take it? I understand that my GPA will be reevaluated for the better grade, but it doesn’t change the fact there is a fat D on my transcript…

If it’s from a business course and you want to transfer to be an English or history or science major, it will be less damaging (kind of like a bad grade in a gym class). If you’re trying to transfer into a business school, it will be more problematic. If the business school is very selective, you probably should think about other options.

I’ve heard that Stern is quite competitive; they’ll have plenty of applicants with no bad grades. So you could use a Plan B.

It’s always good to hear when your dreams have been crushed. Well Alright. I’ll have to do dumb down my school selections… I would of thought they’d look passed the poor grade if it was an A the second time around.
