Common app essay (A "creative work")

<p>So one of the choices for common app is:</p>

<p>Describe a character in fiction, a historical figure, or a creative work (as in art, music, science, etc.) that has had an influence on you, and explain that influence. </p>

<p>I was wondering whether a "creative work" can be music in general, or do we have to pick a specific piece of music? I'm interested in all different types of music, and it would be great to be able to talk about how this passion has influenced me.
I guess if I can't do that with this option, I can always pick a "topic of my choice" and talk about how music has influenced my life there, but I just want to be sure of what I'm doing...</p>

<p>Pick the “topic of your choice”. When they say “creative work” it seems like they mean one piece of work, or at best one artist’s body of work.</p>
