How do you guys feel about them? Personally, I despise all of them. Probably because I can't think of anything decent to write about though... Haha

I hate them! I have nothing to write aboutttt. Like what the heck picking an environment that you’re perfectly content in? ugh

Eh, I just wrote my essay first and then fitted it to a prompt.

Significant experience = I like it. It’s a “topic of your choice” kind of prompt.
Failure = likely to create boring essays about getting a B on a test.
Environment = the one where everyone writes about the library
Challenged a belief = who has actually done this? I think it would make a good essay if you had, though.
Adulthood = we’re not adults so I don’t get it.

Haha so true…I don’t get why they changed the topics tho?? I wish they had at least kept topic of your choice. I guess they must have gotten some pretty bizarre essays tho

All of the prompts lend themselves to very generic and clich

I wish they kept the choice topic. It’s not that these topics are bad, but they are too specific. They don’t allow for much freedom.

I think that’s the point… they want to see if the applicants can be creative enough to come up with unique answers to generic questions to make themselves stand out.

I agree. The failure one is practically begging for cliches lol

LOATHE them… really wish they wouldn’t take away topic of choice. of course our year has to be the first :(

Yeah, we are the dreaded guinea pig year :(

I mean all the essay topics are pretty vague so you can really write about anything you want. Plus you get 150 extra words.

Eh, I doubt they thought it through that much. ![]()
Keep in mind that these essays are just a formality for most people.
