I was planning on writing under the tell your story prompt. I was going to write about my mother passing away in a car accident with me in it. I am wondering if I should because I wouldn't want to make the reader uncomfortable or try and gain sympathy points. Also I was wondering if instead of going detail heavy of the accident should I explain how what happened influenced me in my educational goals and how I was brought up?

Thanks for everyones time.

I am sorry to hear you had to go through such an event. Explaining how the event without heavy detail influenced your life and goals is perfectly acceptable. How old were you when this happened?

I was planning on the first paragraph explaining what I remembered without getting graphic and probably a little bit dramatic and the next paragraph about how what happened influenced me. I was four but I can still replay the whole event in my head

I think that will be great topic unless it screams for sympathy. I think incident’s influence is more important than the portray of how it happened

Thank you, ajrgcpro. Such an event at that age had to have a profound influence. You sound like you are on the right track. Good luck.
