I'm starting the draft of my extracurricular essay, but I'm really confused with what to write and how to write it. Can I start off with a "hook" first sentence or would that be over the top?

Also, I'm writing about Mock Trial. If I'm currently a lead attorney but I was the clerk (a lower role) in my first year, should I write about how I moved up in the ranks as I got more experience? Or would it be wiser to just stick with how being an attorney has impacted me?

i don’t hink the ec short essay is a thing anymore

Lol really? I know they’ve changed the main essay prompts but are the short answer prompts different too?

Common Application:
Since many of you are asking: the current short answer question (discuss an activity) will NOT be part of the main application in CA4. Instead, members will choose whether or not to ask this question (or a version of it) on their writing supplements.

Alright, cool! I would still appreciate help though, because even though it’s not a short answer topic, it’s bound to come up on some supplements. Anyone? :)

i think it would be better to write about how you improved/overcame challenges/learned from it but do whatever you can write about best
