Hi everyone,
I'm an international student who doesn't really know how this whole system works yet, but I started a common app account thinking that, since the 2015 essay topics were released, it must be okay to start my application. However, none of the schools I'm applying to have Fall 2015 as an option for the "preferred entrance term." Does this mean I've wasted my time filling in the app, and, if so, how can I salvage it?

Thanks

All common app accounts will be wiped over the summer and be launched again in august(I think).

@ImClueless17 That is what’s most likely.

@chuck981996 If you worked considerably on your app, go through the process of submitting it to a college and a PDF preview should be displayed. You can save that to your computer and refer to it when you submit your apps next year.

The common app essays for 2014 are the same as for 2014, however, the supplemental essays for each school may not. You may start working on the CA essays any time, but you may not upload it until August with a new account.

My D’s HS counselor said that you can look at the common ap to see what it contains and get familiarized with it, but any information you add to it now will be wiped and you will have to start over when the ap opens for 2015 students. The open date for 2015 is sometime in July. Might even be July 1, but I am not positive. @chuck981996, If you have filled a substantial amount of information in already, our counselor suggested printing it so you can use that information to repopulate when the 2015 application is released. She did say that the essay prompts will remain the same for the CA. The supplemental essays for individual schools will likely change.
