Common App or Princeton App

Try writing it in eyeliner, to show you have a sensitive side.

Or use your own blood. This is a sign of dedication.

I'm faced with a difficult choice right now: writing with my own blood or color every page of the application with orange crayons. Hmm...which option should I go with?

I hope I could get that blood sucking pen Professor Umbridge used to punish Harry Potter. Yep, certainly shows dedication and hard work.

Those aren't mutually exclusive, so do both! Color the background of every page with orange crayon, and then etch into it with your blood.

Slightly masochistic...with a bit of free-spirit flare. PERFECT!

hmm, careful with using blood, it'll rust by the time the app reaches the admissions office. Perhaps add some anti-coagulants to it so the blood will remain fresh? (:D)

Unless you are the Tin Man, blood doesnt 'rust', it clots. Just centrifuge your blood sample and remove the platelets, then put it in any writing utensil of choice, preferably a fountain pen. You can also write a supplemental essay about your merits as the grandson of Count Dracula.

Thanks for the fabulous advice, guys!

I find that most of the letters I write with blood dry out to a nasty brown, and eventually turn black altogether. Would removing the platelets et. al. prevent that?

You'd have to visit the Diagon Alley to find the right potion that'd keep blood fresh.

Uggh I have already addressed the platelet issue!

I spoke to an admissions officer who said, "When I have the application printed out in front of me, I can't tell what application you chose. They're identical."

Use whichever one is more convenient to you.

That's obviously wrong considering that the Common App requires you to write 500wd essay + 2 x supplemental essays. Pton app only wants 2 essays (1 x 500wd + 1 x 300wd)

this year, Princeton supplement only needs one essay, but the topics are quite tricky

ok guys, I got one more serious question:
if I do decide to write the Princeton application in blood, is it possible to submit teacher recs and school reports using common application? you know, i don't want my teachers to get exhausted.
thanks

"I personally think that even though they cannot directly favor one over the other, it shows a certain amount of committment, interest, and loyalty if you use the Princeton app."

I agree with tokyo. I mean if you talk about how Princeton is your number one choice blah blah blah and you use the common app, it rings a bit hollow.

Oh, write in blood...amazing idea!
