Common App Questions

Hello! I've been reading some of the questions recently posted but I can't seem to find answers to mine...hopefully someone can help me :)

Do you have to report SAT/ Subject Test scores if you only want colleges to evaluate your ACT score? I took the SAT in January and three subject tests in June, but my ACT score is much better and the colleges I am applying to require the ACT w/writing OR the SAT and two subject tests.

Are honor societies extra-curriculars? I am a member of NHS, NEHS, NSHS, and Mu Alpha Theta. I participate in them all year and have leadership positions. I feel like just listing them as an "honor" in the honors section is not enough, but I want to be sure.

Thanks in advance!

What I’ve been told is that if you hold an active leadership position they are an honor and EC.

cty4ever is correct!

Okay so even if I don’t have a leadership position in one, but it still requires tutoring and community service outside of school, it’s only an honor?

No, if it is a significant amount of work than by all means put in under extracurricular experience! Also put it under honors :)

Best of luck,

Okay thanks, Lehigh! And does anyone know anything about my first Q?

You are able to just report ACT even if you took SAT and SAT IIs. Simply leave those two sections blank, only filling out ACT.

Best regards,

 • Mike

Yay! Haha  thanks so much for your help!

Sure, no problem!
