Honors on the Common App

<p>Hi! I'm at the Education > Honors section of the Common Application and I have a few questions. I did a search on this topic earlier but I'm still a bit confused.</p>

<p>1) Do these include course awards? I do have a few, like "Honorable Mention English I" and "AP US Government & Politics Award". Should I include these?</p>

<p>2) Is National Honor Society really supposed to be here? At my school, it's more of a club/EC. Same situation for National Beta Club.</p>

<p>3) What about being selected to programs like HOBY and Governor's School? Should I put these here, or does a more appropriate section come up later?</p>

<p>Yes, NHS really is supposed to be in the Honors section, even though it has some similarities to a club activity at many schools. It’s a school level award.</p>

<p>Yeah, just list the ones you consider most important. You can list the rest of your awards in the Additional Information section (Writing > Additional Information).</p>
