<p>I'm a British student and am close to submitting my Common Application. However I have a problem concerning my recommendations.</p>
<p>As I understand it, once I've assigned my referees they should get an email which will allow them to upload the reference, but I've done this and they still have not recieved an email.</p>
<p>Basically my question is this - In what period of time can I expect them to recieve an email? Additionally if what I've written above can someone please describe the process of how a reference is uploaded.</p>
<p>Lastly, can my referee's submit there references before I've submitted my application?</p>
<p>I’m not sure about the teacher’s end of the recommendation, but I can answer your second question. I don’t think you can submit your app until your teachers have added their recommendations. This doesn’t really matter on your end because Common App doesn’t allow you to see your teacher recommendations, however you will see whether they have been added. Maybe just try adding your teachers again, or ask them to confirm that they haven’t received an email. Good luck!</p>
<p>Thanks for the reply. My Counsellor has received an email, but my subject teachers have not. I’ve checked the e-mail addresses and they are correct and the relevant email domains aren’t blocked on my school’s email. I also tried re-sending the email, but still nothing. Lastly, I emailed Common App Support but they’ve been completely unhelpful, and just sent me answers from their website, so I’m a bit unsure about what to do next.</p>
<p>When I press submit, is my application sent off to the universities at that point, or held until the reference is added? I’m assuming that the former is true, but I’m asking just in case.</p>
