Hey guys! I have one question about the recommendations on the common app. Can I ask my private tutor (who obviously doesn’t work at my school) to write a recommendation for me? I have private lessons with her because I’m on a higher level of French than rest of my year. It’s not like I’m struggling and trying to keep up with the rest. If you’re more advanced, it’s very common to have classes with a private tutor in Poland, where I live. What’s more, this teacher knows me really well and could add a lot to my application. If you think it’s a good idea to ask her, should I assign her to Teacher recommendations or Other recommendations on common app?

Check with your counselor, but typically your two rec letters must be from school teachers and a rec from an outside source must be additional, @Edyaaa

yes you can. But your tutor does not belong to Teacher part, he or she needs to choose Other Recommender
If there are 6 schools that all require a letter of recommendationsome from a teacher and other. Will that teacher and other rexommendation person get 6 email requests to complete on the student?
