Common Application asks me......

Common Application asks me why I want to transfer and my transfer objective.

Can I say I want to find like-minded group and have good people to talking with? Cannot find people to communicate with is really an importance for me. I am very disappointed about schoolmates around me do not care what I care. They only care gossip and luxury things.

Is it a good way to explain? How can I make it sounds more positive?

Thank you guys~

I believe it is fine to say you want to be around a more intellectually stimulating environment, particularly because students learn as much from each other as they do from classroom education.

I’d also mention some course offerings that you cannot get at your current college.

Great idea! you know, it is very hard for international students to find a exactly right word to describe some feelings.

I am really appreciated!

Can I write about a specific thing happened on my physics class? It was a group discussion work, I expressed my idea but my group member said the idea is complicated(actualy it’s not) and she doesn’t want to think about it. Since teacher said there’s no right or wrong answers in the topic, she just wanted us to finish the work?
I do not want people think me like a negative person, but this is really what’s happened.

I would encourage you to focus on the positive aspects you wish to experience at UVa. While it is a given that you are transferring because your current university isn’t meeting your needs, I don’t think you will gain anything by talking about it’s weaknesses (or that of your current classmates). I think in any situation it’s best to keep things positive. You may want to talk about your desire to study with students who will challenge you academically to be your very best. This doesn’t say anything negative about your current classmates or instructors, but the end result is the same.

Best of luck to you!!

Yes, it’s really a good way to think. Thank you very much.
