Sex! Violence!

Now that I have your guys' attention, I was wondering if someone could answer a question I have about the Common App and transferring. For the general essay, it states, "Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve." My question is this: am I supposed to talk about the general reasons why I want to transfer from my current school? Almost all of the supplements ask a similar question (but for their specific school). I guess it just seems weird to me to only write about where I'm coming from and not about where I want to go. Also, does anyone have a good example of a general transfer essay (like the kind we're apparently supposed to write?), because all of the essays I've found so far have been for specific schools.

Thanks for any help you guys can give!

I don’t know how helpful this will be because I’m not a transfer student or anything, but it seems to me that your reasons for transferring would include reasons why you want to go to that place as well as why you want to leave the other one because surely those reasons were factored into your decision to want to transfer  It would probably look better to focus on the positive things that drew you to the new college instead of the negative things that lead you away from your current place.
