Common problem? Fury over financial aid/deposit/ED...

<p>So, I've seen a few threads about this topic and I just wanna know how many others are in this situation. I FULLY expected to have my aid estimate by now, and my deposit is due by Tuesday. I personally have resolved to just excepting what I get and suffering through it (irresponsible? perhaps.), but my mother is pressuring me to apply to other schools and is livid over having to pay $800 and commit to paying another $1000 by August BLIND. </p>

<p>So. I can call NYU tomorrow and demand a rough estimate? Or, risk losing nearly one thousand dollars because the school doesn't have their ***** together. Excellent.
I've applied to one other school that I am certain I'll be accepted to, but I am about 5 minutes from applying to 10 more and forgetting about NYU. </p>

<p>Is anyone able to log n using their ID number yet? I don't even see where to log in at... And is their any way to give someone some vague finaid info and get a vague estimate in return? I'm at the end of my ropes with this situation and I'm startting to get scared.</p>

And yeah, def apply to more schools. Or, at least fill out the apps and pay for the app after you know from nyu.
Thankfully, I got my NYU fin.aid soon… despite how bad it was.</p>

<p>I would call the school FA today, this morning. it is ludacrous(sp?) to expect someone to commit without knowing the FA package. Good luck.
Yes I would apply to more colleges.</p>

<p>Thanks for the replys. I tried calling about 15 minutes ago and they’re closed for the holidays. But, they’ll have a few people available to talk tomorrow. Soo, I’m pretty sure the deposit is DUE tomorrow and I’d be taking a huge gamble with my admission by hoping that they extend my deadline. I’m not sure, but I think I’ll just have my mom get the check postmarked tomorrow, regardless.</p>

<p>Edit: My deposit isn’t due until the 4th, just re-read the letter.</p>
