did anyone else not get financial aid information yet?

I'm from California and haven't received the financial aid estimate letter yet. Anyone else not receive it?

We have not gotten here in Connecticut either, I called a couple of days ago, and they said they were behind and we should have it either the first or second week of january.

Which is ridiculous because if they dont offer you a realistic amount, then you shouldnt have to accept their offer of admission yet.

are you serious? On my letter it says the nonrefundable deposit has to be returned within 3 weeks, which is Jan 1 for me, but I have no idea what my estimate is going to be…

Exactly. Its dumb.
For me, they expect like 35k a year in EFC… not going to happen so I think I’m going to have to decline their ED offer because I cannot pay. Its impossible.

word. my dad lost his job a week before i got accepted. we sent in some forms to get the financial aid reevaluated, but it won’t come for almost a month. what are we supposed to do about sending in our offers? my going there really depends on whether or not i get better / more financial aid.

Same here. I thought they’d be more understanding of our financial situation… but, nope… they werent…

@college9666 are you going to continue applying for other colleges before you receive your financial aid package? I want to call in to ask but according to nyu’s forum they’re closed until Jan 3rd.

If you have a really important message, you can call them and they will respond next week.

well, i already got financial aid with my acceptance, but because my dad just lost his job we’re looking for more (i got 12,500 a year and the rest is basically loans). they said there was something special that we could do so we filled out some forms, but i don’t know if it will help much… i guess i’ll just have to wait and see.

oh and i already applied to my other colleges when i sent in my ED application to NYU, so i think im fine. (you didn’t hear it from me, but if you’re not 100% sure you can pay for NYU, apply to to your other colleges (; )

Yes, but doesnt NYU MAKE you withdrawl from your other schools when you turn in your deposit?
