I'm looking for an accounting internship this summer. I have 71 earned credits, and have taken the following business coursework:

► Principles of Financial Accounting
► Principles of Managerial Accounting
► Computers in Business
► Information Systems in Organization
► Law & Business I
► Business & Economic Statistics I

GPA = 4.00

The internships that my university promotes explicitly specify that students need Intermediate Financial Accounting I under their belt. (Then again, those companies are strictly public accounting firms that have agreed to comply with my university's "best practices" policy concerning internships.) So, I haven't applied for any of those. Instead, I applied online for a financial accounting internship with ADT (a normal company/corporation). An employee from their HR department called me the following morning, forwarded my application/resume/cover letter to the hiring manager, and then called back later that day to schedule a phone interview with the Assistant Controller.

I'm trying to gauge how hopeful I should be about this internship opportunity. I don't know how common (or uncommon) it is for corporations (rather than public accounting firms) to accept students who have not taken Intermediate I. On my resume, I specified the relevant coursework that I have taken - which are listed above, along with some professional writing and public speaking courses. So, I presume they are aware that I haven't taken Intermediate I yet.

Does anyone have any insight regarding this? And, even if they prefer a student with Intermediate I, would it be feasible for me to make up for that in other ways (my skills, traits, etc.)?
