Common SAT Question

When you have those questions that give you some equation and ask you to solve for like x/y, how do you transform it in this form?

For example, if I get y=15x, and I need to get it into x/y notation, how do I do this?

Please Help.

Divide both sides by y. You get 1=15x/y
We see our x/y, but we have that 15 there which we dont want. Move it over by dividing both sides by 15. In the end you get 1/15 = x/y

y=15x

Substitute any two numbers in that satisfy the equation. X could equal 1 and y could equal 15. 1 divided by 15 is 1/15.
