Hiya,

I'll be attending Cal Day with my parents most likely. I'm fine with this, but I'm just wonderin'...

Anyone else doing this too? lol

Typically you come together, then split apart and you meet up at one or two points (e.g. lunch or end of day) but otherwise you stay on your own.

Absolutely! It’s an open house for both you and your parents. They gotta know where you’ll be spending your next 4 years…

yeah ppl generally go with their parents…if the parents can come. nobody really cares because it’s not like u ever see those kids again or judge the parents. it’s kool.

It’s mostly the transfers that come to Cal Day on their own, not frosh, and yeah, it’s cool coming with your folks since most do. I was completely down with my parents (both of them) coming up and seeing where they were going to spend a ton of money. My mom was particularly useful when we explored the dorms – ALL OF THEM! Little things that I didn’t notice but sure came in handy.

And you’ll prolly be asking in a few months about them coming up to help you settle in to the dorm – it’s tradition, and you kinda feel bad for students who don’t have parents to help them drag up their stuff and make up their room.
