Communications/Public Relations schools?

So I'm a junior that's thinking about going into sports public/media relations. However, I want to possibly major in communicatioins as you can still do a variety of different things.

So what good schools for communications/public relations are out there?

Univ. of Missouri-Columbia, Syracuse, and Northwestern

Ohio University, Maryland and Indiana.

Syracuse University - the Newhouse School has the majors you are looking at

I’m really surprised as to why Emerson is left out of this…it’s a strictly communications school, really.

[Emerson College](http://www.emerson.edu/)

apparently one of the best around, too.

Wisconsin

[History | School of Journalism & Mass Communication](http://www.journalism.wisc.edu/pages/history)

U Miami, Villanova, Syracuse, Ithaca, Penn State, American, GWU

USC Annenberg

In my opinion The 2 top schools are SI Newhouse and University of Pennsylvania. They seem go go back and forth in different articles between 1 and 2. My daughter chose SI Newhouse over U of P as she enjoyed the trip there and felt it met not only her educational requirements but what she was looking for in a college environment.
I’m sure there are many excellent schools other than these, but I only had interactions with these two.
By the way my daughter loves Syracuse!

This thread is three years old but I agree with all of the above…

and fwiw, unless something has changed, the UPenn comm program is more research based (for people who want to go on to graduate school/PHd’s)…

Agree about Syracuse & Ithaca, both great schools.
