<p>Generally, yes, the credits from community college will transfer elsewhere. You should check with a guidance counselor or other trusted source just to make absolutely sure though.</p>

<p>Oh yes they can. Transcripts from all previously attended institutions are required. If they find out, they can rescind your admission.</p>

<p>If he received any financial aid it would be really easy to tell. There are other ways as well though I am not as well versed in them.</p>
<p>^Not necessarily. I took an art class during high school at a local cc. Just for the hell of it.
I asked my school if they wanted the transcript (the credits were not applicable to transfer), and they essentially said ‘no, we only want your high school transcript if you’re an enrolling freshmen’</p>

Because I took a really difficult precalculus course at a local university and I’m scared to death that I got a B (results come out later next week) and was assuming that if I did that I wouldn’t have to send it. <p>I think if you dual enroll at a college as a high school student that may be the exception, but I am not sure. That may vary by institution or even on a case by case basis.</p>
<p>I just did it over the summer for “fun” - mainly because our math dept is very poor so I wanted to accelerate in that area. So unless they specifically ask for secondary institution transcripts I’m okay?</p>

<p>You will send the CC transcript to your university. They will award you credit for the course on your transcript at the university…However, the grade will NOT be on the transcript for the university and it will NOT factor into your GPA at the university.</p>
<p>I took Dual Enrollment English 101 and 102 my senior year. It was through a CC. When the class was officially ended, I sent my transcript for that class to the University I’m attending, and it shows up that I’ve already taken ENG 101 and 102, but I don’t have a university GPA yet. It’s kinda a bummer because I got As, but still.</p>
<p>I wouldn’t be worried about the B, because a B counts for credit, but it likely won’t show up on your transcript as having a GPA. Essentially, you were awarded credit, are scared you got a B (oh, CC) and nobody will have to know you got a B. You’re fine.</p>

<p>Look at the policies on your university’s website, mine will transfer applicable credit but does not transfer the grade. So basically they will just give you an A for it(same for an AP score that meets their criteria) so that you begin with a 4.0.</p>
<p>If you plan on applying for ang grad or professional schools, they might want to see that B. I know for law school, any college class taken during undergrad (not sure about credits during HS) will count toward the GPA you supply to law schools. So that B will show up somewhere. I’m taking a Spanish course at my CC to transfer back to my university and it won’t count in my home GPA as long as i get a high enough grade to transfer the credit. I’m still going to get the highest grade i possibly can for when I apply to law school.</p>

<p>They don’t give you an A if you didn’t earn one. They don’t give you anything. Your GPA starts as non-existent, but you have credit for a class.</p>
<p>I’m more worried about my B at that university in regards to college admissions than it factoring into my GPA… I was aiming for Ivies and other top tier school and I’m sure it will look awful if I get a B at a local state university. <em>Panic sets in</em> I don’t know for sure that I got a B (at least not yet) so I’m not going to panic…yet</p>
