Community college doesn't have major

Neither santa monica not el camino have a classics major. I eventually want to transfer to UCLA, and have to stay at home to take care of my brother. If i go to a cc will I be able to transfer as a classics major, if not should i go to uci or ucsd and transfer?

Don't look for the major at the CC level. Look for the classes that are actually necessary as lower division prerequisites for the major. Also there are like at least 10 community colleges in the LA area I think, hah, so check out some more.

Go to assist.org and select the major at UCLA and then look at each of the community colleges to see if they have the prerequisites.

agree w/ the previous poster. Don't be surprised, assist.org lacks a lot of majors incluiding geology and earth sciences.

Check out this page and take classes that theyt tell u to. If u're unsure about course similarities give ucla addmission a call.

I'm not sure you can take comparable classes at any community college.
