Community college or not so well know college/university better for transfer?

Hey.
Should I consider going to a top community college and then transferring out to a really good tech school or go to a not so well know university or college (say University of Nevada Las Vegas) and then transferring out after 2 years to a really good to tech school (like USC, Georgia Tech, Berkeley, Cornell or similar universities)
Grades or Sats are not a problem. Tuition/cost of attendance at University of Nevada at Las Vegas and a community college would be almost the same because I'm an international student. I'm planning to transfer to a four year institution after 2 years to save some money.
My major would be computer science or computer engineering ( CS/CE) so I plan to do a lot of research while I'm at a community college or University. Currently I'm looking at community colleges near silicon valley, Palo alto and more in California and really goods ones on the east coast.

If your goal is to transfer to Berkeley, you effectively must go to a California community college. The vast majority of transfer students at UC schools come through a state-mandated pipeline from the community college system. Very few non-CCC transfer students are accepted to Cal.

Thanks for the reply. Although I want to go to berekley I can’t. They don’t offer scholarships to international students. I want to know about which is a better choice CC or a decent university to transfer out to a really good university. I like colleges on the east coast too.

GeorgiaTech won’t give you scholarships or FA either:

Please take care with the wording of your questions. You stated in the OP that you wanted to attend schools like Berkeley & GATech and then you say that you won’t apply because of lack of FA. Members are taking the time to answer your post, so please provide the best available information.

i’m so sorry :(. I’m don’t know much. I think get it now. I think I would like to transfer into a private four year or i don’t mind paying 40k a year for 2 years. I just want to know which option is better transferring from community college or a decent university ( I’m looking at UN Las Vegas) I don’t know where I want to transfer, but i want to know which option will increase my chances of transferring.

It’s hard to address all situations and colleges, here are some factors that you should consider:

Transfer/Articulation agreements with CCs. Many public colleges have transfer agreements with their in-state CCs, facilitating transferring. There are also some privates that have transfer agreements with certain CCs, for instance, USC:

Error;

How well you can do academically in a CC vs. UNLV. Much of transferring depends on your academic record, and while a gpa at UNLV may be perceived as better than the same gpa at a CC, you should consider which situation you will be the most successful in. Also think about getting to know profs as you are likely to need LORs.

Same as #2, but for ECs, internships, etc. factors outside of academics.

Thank you so much! I think I would go to a CC in CA (preferably near silicon valley) to get more interships and exposure. I don’t think Las Vegas would have interships. Should I call admissions and ask?
