Community college student considering a summer class at CSUN for IGETC.

I want to take Introductory Statistics over the summer in order to satisfy the math requirement on the IGETC. Can I do this? Will I still be considered a community college student during admissions (and not affected by the senior standing rule)?

I'm looking at CSUN as a backup plan in case my local community college has a summer session and classes fill up too fast for me to register. If I can just get three extra units I'll be able to TAG (I'll be at 27 when this spring ends, not including AP units).

Actually, I just realized that the CSUN units wouldn’t count for TAG since those initial 30 must be exclusively community college units. I’m still down for a summer class, though (although not if I can’t use it for IGETC certification).

Check your transfer target schools on the subject of transfer applicant unit limits, which sometimes kick in if you have any units from any four year school (as opposed to all units from community colleges).
