Community College Summer before Freshmen year?

Can I take summer classes at my local CC instead of Berkeley's Summer Session? Since I'm FPF, I can't take advantage of the freshmen session and I want to know if there are any things I should know before trying to enroll in any classes at CC. I'm planning on taking the equivalent of Math 1A or English R1A if I don't pass the AP Exams.

yes that works, and i highly recommend taking English R1a. Classes are already full. Math1a, is weeder class, so take that too.

One con to taking cc classes is that the GPA won’t transfer over, but you will get full credits. But that could be a good thing, so you only need a C. Also, the the letter grade doesn’t even show on the UC transcript.

^ But I think when it comes to grad school, the admissions officers do count your JC grades as part of your GPA.

^
Yeah they do, which sucks. Even W’s are counted in. :X

Wait grad schools count JC grades in the overall GPA? Hmmm that changes things a lot. I might have to retake Physics 7A (got a B at a JC)… D:

What does “weeder” class mean?
