If one were to apply as a transfer student from a community college to Stanford, what information would they ask for? Would it be based on GPA, EC, and essay? Will it also include test scores such as SAT?

Thank you.

Thank you.

SATs are requested and considered. They will consider the rounded picture of performance in college courses, GPA, high school performance, EC and of course, essays. SATs are considered as well and it's a plus if you took Subject tests.

I applied to Stanford as well, transferring from community college. I had took the SAT last month (interesting thing to do when you're 32 and in a room full of high school kids). If you do plan to take the SAT, study the math. I didn't do well there because I hate algebra and trig and couldn't remember most of it from high school.

GOOD FORTUNE!

Extention0 you can find a lot out by looking at their website. Stanford is pretty selective (actually I thought they didn't even take transfers), so all of those things are probably important.

ilivefree, I also went back to school at 32. I thought I was going to have to take the SAT for the first time, but the schools I finally settled on don't require it. Thank god! Teenagers were one of the reasons I quit school to begin with, lol.

Good luck with Stanford. I'm applying to Tulane, Oxy, and U of the Pacific. Really hoping for Occidental.
