Community College Transfer Student

Hello I am currently attending Tidewater Community College my Gpa is 4.0 my major is business admin. i have a guaranteed admission into william and mary but i want to keep my options open i am also looking into UVA and Georgetown. Do these colleges accept cc students without a guaranteed admissions agreement? i know UVA offers an agreement but they require 2 semesters of foreign language i havent taken any because i cant fit anymore into my schedule so i was wondering what are my chances? Georgetown has a few requirements but i will fulfill all thoes before i graduate. thanks for your time

It is easier to get into a 4-year college/university that has a formal articulation agreement with your community college, but you aren’t limited to schools that your community college has made agreements with. UVA and Georgetown do indeed admit community college grads every single year.

You should contact UVA about the specific requirement for foreign language. If you absolutely don’t have time for the class now, find out if you could be admitted in probationary status and could complete the courses once you are there, or next summer before you would enroll. If you took a language in HS, ask whether a particular exam score on the SAT II or CLEP would be an acceptable substitute.

Good luck!

anymore replies?

Georgetown does and they have no language requirement so try applying there. NYU also has similar requirements to georgetown.
