Some CCs around here give guaranteed transfers to places like UCSD,UCD, etc.

Are there any that give guaranteed transfer contracts to UCB?

Are there any that give guaranteed transfer contracts to UCB?

No, there aren't.

I'm gonna guess it's the same with UCLA =P
Thanks

there are some that give priorities to certain CC for UCLA

Thanks. Is there a list of these somewhere or do you have a few that I could check out?

haha you wish!

Well for UCLA check out the Santa Monica City College website.

dmission,

You want page 23 here: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/A4T.pdf

Check out the column entitled "Transfer Alliance Program". It lists all participating California CC's with TAP to UCLA.

santa monica college is a very good CC. Many of the profs that teach at SMC also teach at other local universities.

Ok I know this one, I go to Santa Ana CC and we actually do not have an honors TAP contract with UCLA, however our sister school Santiago Canyon does... I have a contact Casey Hunter who informed me that there is NEVER guaranteed admission to UCLA... Engaging in the Honors/TAP alliance greatly increases your chances of being accepted however it is not a guarantee. Anyone who tells you otherwise I would ask them where they got their info. That came directly from a transfer coordinator at UCLA... Santa Monica boasts that you will be accepted however that is misleading. 100% of a year that applied from there program got in, that does not mean that if you complete the certification however that you will be accepted.... As for Berkeley no, and never. Hope that was helpful...

Berkeley has a tap program to but it is only for middle to low income and educationally disadvantage students.

Why doesn't Santa Monica college have a TAP program? Every random community college in California has a TAP program nowadays.

As for the TAP program, I do not know of anyone who assumes they get in automatically by passing the classes. This is not the case. The TAP program simply gives you priority over all other transfer students. The guaranteed admission program however goes with all other UCs, including UCSD, UCD, UCSB, UCSC, UCR, UCM, UCI.

Santa Monica does have a TAP program. This link will give you all the schools that participate in TAP.

TAP is the bomb! but too lazy to take 5 honors courses...
