Do hours of community service matter? When I did my resume in September I said 450+ hours, but it happens to be 900 when I calculated it. I did not initially include hours that went into planning projects but hours I just spent volunteering. I applied by the 1/1 deadline and noticed that now. Would that look really bad that it's only 450+ hours when that is my main commitment? Thanks.

I think it matters if it is a graduation requirement for your high school. Otherwise, what matters is the overall quality of your application file, and what you would bring to the campus community. That could be a lot of different things.

450 is a lot. 900 is also a lot. I think once the numbers get to a certain point it doesn't much matter anymore. The important thing is to make sure it doesn't come across like you were just volunteering to rack up a bunch of hours to look impressive. But rather that you did it out of the kindness of your heart and whatnot.
