Commuting?

Since I care a lot about my post college future, and since I live in the area, I'm leaning toward not dorming (especially since I essentially have my tuition fully paid in scholarships/grants if I don't dorm). I won't necessarily be living with my parents, but I'll leave questions about finding apartments aside.

So, anyone else planning on doing this?
Thoughts? Opinions?
Am I missing out big time for doing this?

I commute, and I don’t feel like im missing out on much. Almost all my friends who dorm dislike them and their roommates lol
Just don’t commute from too far. Sometimes, you’ll have to stay late for group study sessions and stuff like that and in cases like that, far commutes can be rather exhausting and inconvenient.

NYU has a large commuter community. You might miss out on some of the freshman “dorm experience” but it’s really not that much to miss, and a big chunk of students here commute so you definitely won’t be alone

Thanks for the input. I think I’ll be doing this, especially since I won’t have to pay any tuition if I do.
