I am looking at Computer Science major. I want to double major in economics. Is that advisable? Or should I just minor in electrical engineering?

What is the best combination with computer science? I am still looking around and want something manageable. I will be playing varsity DIII tennis (Rochester RPI NYU places) and want to get the most out of my undergraduate education before my MS in Finance.

Check that: I am going to Rochester.

You will find few people on here who will recommend a double major - simply put, the breadth advantage largely plateaus after a relative handful of courses in the second field, which makes the rest of the second major a waste of time, money, and effort! The minor suffers from the same problem, albeit to a lesser degree.

The real issue becomes figuring out what you want to do with your life? EE, CS, econ, and finance are all very different fields with relatively small intersections. I would not recommend a minor in EE simply because I cannot see a use for it, but as for the rest? Not sure what those intersections look like.

Is there no undergrad major in finance? If that is your goal, why wait for grad school to pursue it? Are you thinking computational finance? That field involves a lot more programming and math than anything else, and usually does not require much knowledge of actual finance - just enough to sort-of-understand the equations they want you to solve, most people in CF don’t have dedicated finance degrees!
