I’ve been looking into Geneseo’s honors program, and it seems pretty legit (honors kids all share a dorm building, there seems to be a real sense of community, etc). I just talked to a girl who attended New Paltz’s honors program, and she said that while the classes she took were nice, it really wasn’t a big deal/no massive differences from regular. This got me thinking about the differences between the honors programs at SUNYs - does anyone have experience with any of them? I might want to apply to a SUNY I wouldn’t have thought of because of an especially strong one.
Suny.edu has a breakdown of the honors programs where you can see the requirements. Albany has a dedicated dorm. Plattsburgh has a series of seminars. I don’t know about any of the others. I suggest looking at the website and then going to the specific school website for any that you are interested in.
My understanding of Geneseo’s program is that it is limited in size.
Great! I didn’t know about the page, it’s really helpful (hmm . . . guess I’m not the first to ask this question). Yeah, the Geneseo one has something like 40 kids . . . I like Geneseo because of its small size, but you get advantages with a larger program, too.
