Does anyone know any good computer technology/computer engineering/computer science schools? I only know of a couple: Stanford, cal poly san louis obispo, caltech, mit.. I don't really think I'm qualified for caltech or mit. Right now cal poly is my best bet, but I will be a junior in the next school year so there is still time to change things, but now I would consider myself average.

I'm still interested in looking for more schools. Maybe if you can make a list of all of the ones with good programs in this field? I've tried searching for them, but I didn't really find any clear results, so I figured I'd just ask here. :) It would be very appreciated!

Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, UIUC, Rensselaer Polytech, Worchester Polytech, and Georgia Tech are all good. Berkeley, UCLA, or any other UC would be fine. Look into the costs. A good state school is usually a good value in a field like computer science. The private universities will all be over 40K per year, including everything.

UT-Austin is top 10 (or higher) by all accounts. Not to mention it has the fastest academic supercomputer on earth. Like Berekeley or UCLA, though, VERY difficult to get in out of state.

In California you could consider University of the Pacific as a little easier to get into and a school that you are guaranteed to get through in 4 years as opposed to Cal Poly. But, it's private and you don't specify if you have cap on tuition costs. I notice that none of the UC's are on your list even though most of them have decent engineering. San Jose State is also a consideration.

Although rankings aren't the most accurate measure of quality, I must say that all the programs ranked in the top 20 could be considered excellent.
